“Be the Comfort You Once Craved For”

It all began in the quiet of a postpartum recovery room — I had just given birth to my second child. I was exhausted, dazed, floating somewhere between the adrenaline of labor and the fog of postpartum meds. My newborn had just fallen asleep and I started scrolling through Instagram, replying to the flood of congratulatory messages pouring in. That’s when I saw it — a message that stood out from the rest. When You Wear You reached out and said they wanted to collaborate with me. Not just for me — with me. They wanted to co-create something together. A product that reflected who I am.

You know those moments when something tugs at your soul, and even though your whole life feels like a whirlwind, you just know you have to say yes? That was me.

A few weeks later, I had my first call with Hamra, the heart and soul behind When You Wear You. From the first conversation, I felt warmth and understanding. We shared our stories, our whys, and our visions. That call wasn’t just about business or brainstorming — it was about connection. We both knew we didn’t just want to create another clothing item. We wanted to build something that tells a story, something that feels like home.

And just like that, Dil Se Denim was born.

We decided early on that it had to be a jacket — something classic, something wearable, something that could wrap around you like a hug. Comfortable, casual, vibrant — a piece that feels like a second skin. But more than that, it had to mean something. It had to tell a story.

The words “Be the Comfort You Once Craved For” came to me like a whisper from my past — from the girl who became a mother for the first time and felt completely alone. I’ve been open on my Instagram about my postpartum journey, especially the depression and isolation I faced in those early days. No one truly prepares you for motherhood — the way it tears you down before it builds you back up.

I didn’t have a village. I didn’t have my mom tribe. I didn’t know how to ask for help, and when I did, I didn’t always find it. That version of me — lonely, scared, aching for connection — is who inspired this jacket. Because now, a few years and two kids later, I try to be that comfort for others. I reach out to new moms. I listen. I validate. I hold space. And I hope this jacket does the same — a soft reminder to extend the kindness you once needed, to others and to yourself.

When I shared this vision with Hamra, she instantly got it. She felt it too. And that’s when we began piecing the concept together — every thread, every detail, rooted in intention.

DilSe Denim is more than just a jacket. It’s a story stitched into fabric. It’s a tribute to the versions of us who needed comfort and didn’t find it — and a promise that we’ll be that comfort for someone else. It’s trendy, yes.

It’s vibrant and stylish, yes.

But most importantly, it’s real. It’s made with heart.

Whether you’re a mom, a daughter, a friend, or just someone figuring life out — this jacket is for you. To remind you that you’re never truly alone, and that the comfort you once craved? You’re capable of becoming that — for yourself and for others.

From our hearts to yours — this is Dil Se Denim.

Love,

Fatima
